Josh Smith

Josh Smith has developed a formidable legal skillset and a passion for zealous advocacy through years of experience representing individuals, small businesses, and large corporations in Colorado and across the United States. Josh has been fortunate in being afforded many opportunities early in his legal career that are uncommon to his peer group. Virtually from the start of his practice, Josh has been entrusted with the responsibility of independently handling a volume of complex cases and solving challenging legal problems in a wide variety of areas including healthcare and medical negligence, products liability, aviation related accidents, catastrophic injury, wrongful death, and analysis and advisement as to the legal rights and duties arising from commercial contracts and insurance agreements. Josh has represented businesses and individual clients throughout the legal process in both State and Federal courts, from pre-suit investigation through multi-week trials and appeal. Many of Josh’s cases involve complex and high-tech industrial products, aviation crashes, commercial contracts, and other novel legal issues, frequently with millions of dollars at stake. Josh is known for his meticulous attention to detail and his ability to craft compelling arguments that resonate with judges and juries alike.

In addition to his work as a trial attorney, Josh is also a talented negotiator. He is adept at finding creative solutions to complex legal problems and has helped many clients avoid the costs and uncertainties of litigation by reaching favorable settlements outside of court.

Josh joined his three law partners in founding Johnson Bakken Greely Smith, P.C., where the partners have begun leveraging the years of experience collaborating with each other to produce exemplary results for their clients.

When he is not practicing law, Josh enjoys spending time with his wife Blair and his son Ezra, attending concerts at various venues in Colorado including Red Rocks, traveling abroad to visit new countries and experience different cultures, scuba diving in the Caribbean and South Pacific, and generally taking advantage of Colorado’s incredible natural features.
